Past Member Whom We Miss, Respect, And Are Grateful To For All She Did To Make This Team What It Is Today. Thank You Sharon! - Jack

Joe Sibilia

Investigator in Training. Joe was born and raised in Southern New York State, just north of NYC. He has a degree in Engineering, is a dedicated and loving husband and father. He also is a man of faith and strong belief in God. He also has a passion for the unknown and the paranormal. Joe works with Jack Kenna in engineering for the Department of the Army, and this is how Joe came to be first involved with the team. Joe has had paranormal experiences of his own and first spent time discussing them with Jack during lunch at work. After a time Jack asked Joe if he would be interested in reviewing some audio from a case SPIRITS was working on, and Joe jumped at the chance, he came back within a couple days to Jack with some possible evps. What Joe was not aware of is that Jack had already reviewed the audio himself before giving it to him. This was Joe's first test by the team. Jack was amazed to find Joe had hit on all of the same significant evps that he himself had found, as well as some of the other questionable ones that Jack himself had tossed out due to their lack of clarity. Joe also mentioned this in his report to Jack. Jack then gave him more to review and again Joe came back in a timely fashion with his findings, and a few quality evps. After that Jack and the team invited Joe to investigate the old Salem, NY jail with them, where Joe and the team had numerous experiences and captured some high quality evidence. It was after this investigation in September 2017 that Joe was offered a spot on the team as an "Investigator in Training", which he gladly accepted. Joe's first residential investigation with SPIRITS took place on 21 July 2018 in Brooklyn, NY.

Ellen MacNeil

Founder, Lead Investigator, Case Manager. Ellen grew up being hopelessly addicted to horror movies, Dark Shadows, Hammer films from England with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, scary books and questioning "what's out there"? Now as an adult she is an avid fan of Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal State and any other shows, documentaries and any books on the Paranormal she can find! She knew her brother had been killed in Vietnam the day it happened as the Army did not come to their door until the next day, "he sent very powerful messages to prepare us for this news", that opened up a whole new world to Ellen of the "unexplained". Ellen is very proud of our wonderful team of Paranormal lovers including her partner Beckett and their daughter Sarah and looks forward to all our upcoming investigations and also her second investigation at the Mt. Washington Hotel with the Cast of Ghost Hunters!

In 2017 Ellen retired from Brigham and Women's Hospital, but as one door closes another opens, and in April of 2018 Ellen filmed for 5 episodes of season 2 of the TV series "Haunted Case Files".

Sharon Koogler

She had some experiences as a child that she could not explain at the time. When she was older she was able to de-bunk some of those, but others.... It was a combination of movies and her own experiences that led her to the path of investigation to try to get some answers. Sharon is very proud of her team, especially the wonderful chemistry between them. She has been on numerous investigations, including Mt. Washington Hotel with members of T.A.P.S. in April '09 and boot camp at the Spalding Inn May 30th '09.

Sharon, along with team member Jack Kenna, filmed for a new television series titled Haunted Case Files which is produced by Our House Media and will air on cable network Destination America in the spring 2016. NOTE:  Sharon recently left the team due to personal reasons. She will be great missed. We want to thank her for all she did to help make this team what it is today, and for all the hours and hours of hard work she dedicated to not only investigations but to evidence review, and helping the individuals and families who were experiencing hauntings.  We hope that she may someday return to the team, but if not, be assured that we will miss having her knowledge and expertise, but she will still be a part of our lives and our friend. Thank you for everything Sharon.

Jack Kenna

Investigator, Tech Specialist, Author, Writer, Public Figure, New York Chapter. Born in Troy, NY in January 1963, Jack grew up in an area rich in history, legends, and documented haunted graveyards, historical buildings and Revolutionary Battlefields.  Jack’s interest in the paranormal started at a very young age. This was driven by the fact that his mother had many experiences of her own which she often relayed to him.  The home he grew up in and now raises his family in also helped to peak his interest in the paranormal, in addition to his wife and their seven children it is also home to what he refers to as a friendly spirit, which seems to keep an eye out for the family.  In more recent years his interest in the paranormal was rekindled by the TV series Ghost Hunters and the scientific investigation methods utilized by TAPS. These methods are very similar to the type of engineering and scientific methods that Jack has been using on a daily basis for the past thirty plus years in his career as a Senior Engineering Technician and project leader for the Department of the Army. Beyond his technical expertise for the Army, Jack brings to the SPIRITS team his video and audio skills from 6 years of running his own part-time videography business, as well as his computer and website design skills from 7 years of running his own part-time computer repair, training and web design business. Since 2011 Jack has also been writing paranormal articles and stories for Paranormal Underground, and as of 2017 he has also been writing for Living Paranormal Magazine published by Boleyn Paranormal in the UK. Jack also published his first book in September of 2017 titled SPIRITS of New England: Hauntings, Ghosts & Demons which is a semi-fictional work based on several of the SPIRITS teams investigations. His next book titled Paranormal Research: Building a Strong Team will be published in June 2018 by Schiffer publishing in Pennsylvania. In 2015 Jack, along with illustrator Alex Cormack, completed work on the first issue of a new comic book series based on the teams investigations, this first book is titled S.P.I.R.I.T.S. - The Forgotten Souls of Bay Path. He has also appeared in numerous episodes of of the television series Paranormal Survivor and Haunted Case Files, as well as on Haunted Hospitals (S1), and A Haunting (S10 E98). These shows are produced by Our House Media (OHM), Bristow Global Media (BGM), and New Dominion Pictures and air in Canada (T&E Network), the U.S.A. on cable networks Destination America and The Travel Channel and also in the UK and Europe.

Beck Gann

Founder, Lead Investigator Beck grew up in the southern state of Georgia. It was there that she had her first experience with the paranormal. The experience is something that Beck does not like to talk about as it was a very difficult time for her and her family. The experience did leave Beck a stronger person though and a person that is loving, caring and dedicated to her family and the ones she loves, especially Sarah and Ellen. Beck has a unique talent for being able to connect with clients who believe they are experiencing something paranormal and comforting them with the fact that they are not alone and not crazy, having experienced the paranormal first hand, Beck knows for a fact that the paranormal does exist, and that the fear that some people experience when confronted with it is very real as well.
